Abstract:
Plastics have revolutionized industry and consumer behavior in recent decades. However, the characteristics that made them popular turn out to be a major threat to ecosystems. This analysis examines the effects of legal texts adopted in Atlantic Africa on the quantity and harmfulness of available plastic bags. This method is innovative in environmental law due to a numerical approach seldom used in this discipline. An analysis of measures restricting the use of plastic bags shows that the African states in this study have tackled plastic pollution. The complex challenge of banning plastics remains significant in Atlantic Africa.
