Abstract:
Using longitudinal data from India, we estimate the effects of recent changes in several gender discrimination indicators on women?s nutritional outcomes. While women?s rights in India worsened over the period studied, we systematically observe non-linear relationships between female discrimination indicators and their nutritional status, suggesting the co-occurrence of various pathways with opposed nutritional outcomes (weight gain versus weight loss).
