Abstract:
The last few years have seen the emergence of a data economy, rich in promise, but bringing in its wake important questions about the processing of personal data, as a result of scandals and security flaws. In response to the crisis of user confidence, and in order to create the economic conditions for sustainable progress, Europe is at the origin of a vigorous legal and ethical response, with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) the first milestone.
