2. Les monnaies digitales, un nouvel univers ?

Christian Pfister

Regards croisés sur l'économie, 2019, vol. n° 24, issue 1, 40-52

Abstract: This article considers to what extent digital currencies can provide an alternative to existing payment methods. To this end, it presents the main types of digital currencies, as well as their uses, risks, and limits. The risks call for the implementation of a minimal regulatory framework, while the limits relate to whether central banks should issue their own digital currencies or not.
