16. Politique monétaire et inégalités

Mehdi El Herradi ()

Regards croisés sur l'économie, 2019, vol. n° 24, issue 1, 232-238

Abstract: The increase of income and wealth inequality now occupies a central role in developed economies, so much so that it plays a part in the evaluation of the effects of monetary policies. In this paper, we argue that the effects of monetary policy on inequality are still uncertain and depend on the way inequality is measured, as well as on the timeframe looked at. However, central bankers should take a closer look at these effects and consider a stronger cooperation with other economic policies in order to lessen them.
