Abstract:
The simplest way of measuring competition is based on firms? market shares and margin figures. But more sophisticated indices have recently been developed, which rely on the relationships between various parameters rather than their levels. They aim in particular to simulate the effect of mergers and to detect anticompetitive agreements.
