12. Économie et climat: un examen de conscience nécessaire

Antonin Pottier

Regards croisés sur l'économie, 2020, vol. n° 26, issue 1, 179-188

Abstract: Economics is one of the many factors that explain why climate change mitigation is still nascent after thirty years of intense discussions. While looking for the optimal climate change, it presents global warming as barely disrupting the growing trajectory of the global economy. It has proposed climate policies designed with efficiency in mind, at the expense of cooperation and equity, policies that, because of these design flaws, have not delivered the expected results. In sum, economics has contributed to delaying the implementation of effective climate policies.
