Métropolisation et inégalités territoriales. Bilan de trente années de recomposition territoriale

Abstract:
For the past thirty years, metropolization has maintained the attractiveness of the world's largest cities. France has not escaped this widely debated phenomenon. This article deals with the consequences of metropolization in terms of territorial inequalities. Public redistribution, but also private redistribution through household mobility, has enabled many areas often described as "peripheral" to record sustained growth in per capita income, while others have seen their situation deteriorate. The recompositions in terms of spatial disparities caused by metropolization are therefore highlighted.
