Abstract: This article provides an overview of the major issues and perspectives of cultural philanthropy. Culture has been one of the great causes defended by philanthropy since its very beginning, but the meeting between the philanthropic world and the cultural world happens in complex ways. This paper focuses on the development, characteristics and effects of cultural philanthropy.
