L’inflation comme phénomène réel et monétaire

Abstract:
This contribution stresses that the recent increases in price levels have a cyclical dimension and that distributional conflicts cannot immediately be sufficient to trigger a sustainable inflationary dynamic. On the other hand, the aftermath of financialisation and unconventional monetary policies provide fertile ground, as a period of moderate price increases offers the possibility of a relatively orderly devaluation of financial assets that are notoriously overvalued in relation to the real economy.
