Administrer le juste prix des médicaments: entre gouvernement des valeurs et gouvernement des conduites

Abstract:
The prices of reimbursed drugs have been negotiated in France by an interministerial committee with pharmaceutical companies since the mid-1990s. This price control has allowed the public authorities to govern the values conferred on drugs by articulating several conceptions of social justice. Simultaneously, the Comité économique des produits de santé (CEPS) has also sought to govern the behaviours of companies and prescribers, by adjusting prices to take account of market dynamics. The result is an architecture of drug prices whose social justice and market accuracy are subject to multiple controversies.
