David Bounie

Revue économique, 2001, vol. 52, issue 7, 313-330

Abstract: In the context of the development of the Internet, numerous electronic payment systems have been set up in order to secure on line payments. The object of the paper precisely consists in taking the measure of these evolutions to question some banking and monetary incidences of the development of these SPE. In a first part, we propose a typology of the SPE. In a second part, we examine the conditions of the coexistence of these SPE on the Internet in order to analyze, in a third part, the banking and monetary incidences of the development of these SPE.
