Abstract:
This paper presents the results of a pair audit study that has been carried out in the French financial sector. The aim of this study is to compare pairs of candidates? access to job interviews whose characteristics are identical except for their gender. The comparison has been made for different ages, family status and qualifications. The results highlight that among the class of 25 years old, women have easier access to less qualified positions while their male counterparts have significantly higher access to more qualified positions. However, the study cannot confirm systematic gender discrimination in the hiring process. Indeed, job access is not significantly different among older candidates with children. Classification JEL : J71, J82, C42.
