Abstract:
We evaluate the effect of an income support policy (subsidized employment) on the transition to non-subsidized employment in Belgium. To do so, we estimate a bivariate Mixed Proportional Hazard model on a panel of 8 630 unemployed women without labour market experience. Our results show that the effect of participation is significant and positive, whereas the impact of time spent in subsidized employment has no effect. Classification JEL : J64, J68, C41
