Abstract: Targeted policies on deprived neighborhoods have grown usually in response to social movements located in the deprived areas.?Twenty years after the creation of zones urbaines sensibles, zones franches urbaines and zones de redynamisation urbaine, and ten years after the establishment of contrats urbains de cohésion sociale, the Revue économique devote a special issue to these priority areas.?Systematically defined using explicit criteria, these territories derogate from the common law rules on public aid or tax or social regulations.?The twelve articles in this special volume make explicit the issues of political priority neighborhoods, highlighting the effects of territories that motivate this policy and propose to assess its impact with quasi-experimental methods. Classification JEL : I24, I28, C21.
