Abstract:
For the 100th commemoration of the independence of Poland in 2018, the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development published a collection of memorial narratives from rural areas, including a selection of accounts from farmers and their families. Filled with tragic events that affected the Polish peasantry during the past century, these biographical accounts have provided precious material to researchers at the Polish Academy of Sciences, who can thus analyze how historical events have been remembered and transmitted.
