L’extrême droite estonienne et la Suède. Transnationalisation des informations, images et pratiques

Abstract:
To understand the circulation of information and images in the Baltic Sea region, this article examines how EKRE, an Estonian far-right political party, uses information and images (often negative or deemed to be so) coming from Sweden about migrants or sexual minorities in order to advance its xenophobic, ultraconservative ideology inside Estonia. By focusing on this party?s discourse, the contents of its ?hyperpartisan? online media (Uued Uudised) and the references made to Sweden, we see how EKRE uses this Nordic country as a ?countermodel? to justify its political actions. The transnationalisation of EKRE?s activities is placed in a broader perspective by examining both its cooperation with other movements in Nordic countries and its adoption of political practices and strategies with regard to foreign policy issues.
