National Homogeneity as a Component of the Far-Right Narrative in Poland

Bartłomiej Różycki

Revue d'études comparatives Est-Ouest, 2022, vol. N° 2, issue 2, 121-149

Abstract: The concept of ?national homogeneity? was used in Poland before World War II, and then, paradoxically, under the Communist regime. It is still being put to use by political parties, including Law and Justice (PiS), the staunchly anti-Communist party that has governed Poland since 2015. This concept, adopted by the far right, is trending in Poland, cropping up in many forms, ranging from grassroots initiatives to the government?s rhetoric. Its popular appeal is a factor accounting for recent wins by the PiS in elections.
