Abstract:
This article compares the clustering-process bifurcation of two bio-parks, the first one localized in Kobe in Japan, the second one in Evry in France. It attempts to explore, in an empirical way, the contributions and the limits of a study based on information related to the role of entrepreneurs? social capital in the clusters? morphogenesis. It proposes to link this type of analysis to a study of the political, economic and social context of the clustering dynamics. This new approach may not claim to resolve the enigma of the success or the failure of the clustering nor does it pretend to forecast the future of both bio-parks. But it may provide practitioners-strategists with some interesting hints about their clustering trajectories.
