La complémentarité banque/microfinance dans les économies en développement: une perspective théorique

Abstract:
The notion of complementarity between banks and microfinance has often been referred to in debates about the links between both sectors in the Developing Countries. But at the moment the research aiming at giving this complementarity a theoretical basis is quite scarce. In this paper, we will try to start from articles about the necessity of financial intermediaries and those about inter-societies cooperation to give a theoretical basis to a complementarity between both types of intermediaries. On this problem, studies about information asymmetric and transaction costs, in a Richardsonlike approach, give a fascinating analyse frame to a complementarity between them.
