Abstract:
?The creation of competitiveness clusters in France has facilitated a massive investment in R&D projects in certain regions. ? Based on the development of synergies between companies, research centers, and training institutions, these clusters should encourage a human resources policy conducive to innovation. Our research proposes to examine the effect of the creation of these clusters on the salaries of graduates from engineering schools. A difference-in-difference method including matching is used to compare graduate salaries before and after the creation of clusters. The results show the positive effects of the creation of the clusters on young engineers? salaries, especially when they work in R&D.
