L’innovation en PME sous le prisme des dons échangés entre le dirigeant et les salariés

Ludivine Adla and Virginie Gallego-Roquelaure

Revue de l'Entrepreneuriat, 2021, vol. 20, issue 1, 18-36

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to understand innovation in SMEs by focusing on the gifts exchanged by both owner-manager and employees. Using the Maussian approach to donation and the literature on innovation in SMEs, a case study was conducted within an SME. The results shown that the logic of the gift is characterized by an implicit request made by the manager, gifts naturally exchanged between the two parties and counter-donations not returned by the manager, a source of frustration and disengagement.
