Abstract:
This paper analyzes how entrepreneur?s characteristics impact the failure of companies in the book chain. After reviewing the types of entrepreneurs, the use of a logistic regression provided a failure rate of about 65.51%; which is differently explained by the key factors identified: ? a profile in relation to the field of employment, a higher level of education, seniority of less than 5 years in business management and operating officially increase the risk of failure. ? However, a level of primary or secondary school, seniority of more than 5 years and the choice to operate in informal reduce the probability of failure. Managerial capacity-building policies need to be conducted to further reduce this rate: ? Sensitization in the adoption of product development policies and ? mastering their broadcasts. ? Setting up a favorable legal framework for the emergence of a book industry
