Abstract:
A detailed analysis of European statistics on women?s employment underline the differences among nine countries in the employment?s rates, employment?s modes (full time, part-time) and their trends from 1984 and 1997. The correlation between these trends and some indicators as well national (variations of the GNP, of the level of education, divorce rate...) as individuals (family status, highest degree level) show how much the national peculiarities of women?s employment remain important currently.
