Frustration relative et individualisation des inégalités

Abstract: Relative deprivation is a pattern of explanation for social behavior too general to be self-sufficient. Its significance should therefore be re-evaluated now that the experience of inequalities is becoming more and more individual and diverse as we move away from a structure of inequalities in terms of social classes. Which frames of comparison are mobilized, what are the causes of social injustices, which moral patterns lead to action ? It is not impossible that the junction of the individualization of inequalities and the relative deprivation explain today the development of populisms. JEL : D63, I24, J60.
