La décroissance démographique: pourquoi pas ?

Abstract:
In this paper, we develop a model in which demographic decline is optimal when there is an exhaustible natural resource necessary in the production process. In this context, we study child rearing subsidies and show that they do not affect the rate of demographic decline. However, they induce a decrease in per capita consumption.
