Comment concilier les droits de l'individu et les droits de la communauté ? Les apports d'Auguste Walras

Abstract: In laying the foundations for a scientific approach to Political Economy and Natural Law, Auguste Walras proposes to study the idea of justice from a theory of property and a theory of tax. The social issue is to draw a demarcation line between the field of property and the area of the community. Two principles, universal and permanent, are introduced : the need to assign to the State, the ownership of the land ; the order to devote the rent of land to public expenditure. It?s on behalf of reason and justice that should be found ways to justify the rights of society. The question of tax underlines the difficulty of establishing a demarcation line between private property and collective property. On the one hand, tax is used to finance public expenditure relevant to the community. On the other hand, the way to apply it goes against the respect for private property.
