Abstract:
The 2008 Plan de carriere enabled a newly recruited Maîtres de Conférences (equivalent Assistant Professor) salary revaluing as well as a significant increase in promotion numbers, which translated into a new flattening of the hierarchies for research-professors. The reconstruction of each of the promoted professors from the section 5 (economics), on the 2009-2014 period enables an apprehension of the global and individual effects of this increase in promotion numbers. This has reduced the overload in the sub rank 1, enabled a better fluidity from the sub rank 2 to the sub rank 3, population of which has more than doubled, creating an stranglehold when going up to the sub rank 4. To understand the effects at the individual level, we offer two measures of net gains obtained from each promoted professors. The demographic analysis of the promoted shows that those who were rewarded by the national committee (CNU) are in average younger than those going through the local committees. The dispersion of the age of the national committee promoted varies a lot from one mandate to the other.
