Technologies d'information et de communication: quel rôle dans les dynamiques territoriales de développement ?

Abstract: From a 25 development projects evaluation realised for European Union, lessons have been drawn from Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) contribution on rural development. One of the main question was the role of ICT in rural dynamics, and it has seemed important to precise the debate on ICT spatial impact. Evaluation results show the importance of economic, social and cultural context when technology is introduced. First, we precise the conditions of projects? implementation, to consider ICT role in front of other factors involved. We underline the importance of actors involvement ; we show also that technology is more or less central to projects. Finally, according to different ways of new techniques introduction, different types of development are resulting. Classification JEL : O18, O22, O33, R58.
