Abstract:
From Karl POLANYI and New Economic Sociology studies about the concept of embeddedness, this paper suggests that reality of entrepreneurship does not correspond to the atomized representation offered by the standard economic. Contrary to this approach, the heroic contractor leaves room to the networked contractor. This contextualistic framework analysis tends to update the embeddedness of the entrepreneurship within networks of local relations, devices of the territorial organization entitling and restricting the entrepreneurship. More precisely, the object of this article is to highlight the economic and social effects of the local embeddededness on the very small enterprises within local social networks. From an ethnographic fieldwork conduced at 12 entrepreneurial small enterprises, I identify the components of this embedded relationships and explain the devices by which local embeddedness shapes the process of creation of these very small enterprises.
