Abstract:
2002 is a key year for sustainable tourism because of its international recognition at Johannesburg Summit. This one is due to tourism actors? mobilisation. However, multiple initiatory make sustainable tourism difficult to understand, mainly about production offered. When one analyse both nationals and internationals declarations about sustainable tourism helped by particular case of PNR applied both in Vercors and Queyras mountains, one can clarify the situation. Then sustainable tourism appears as a tourism development model in rural areas which aims at formatting these spaces following a unification framework for private initiatives based upon a common value : authenticity. However, rigidities of this model finally lead us to wonder about its real application. Classification JEL : D62, E61, L83, O13, O18, Q26, R11.
