Note sur l'utilisation de l'indice multidimensionnel de gini appliqué à une analyse des inégalités salariales en Languedoc-Roussillon en 1996

Stéphane Mussard, Françoise Seyte and Michel Terraza

Revue d'économie régionale et urbaine, 2004, vol. février, issue 1, 125-134

Abstract: This article shows that the multidimensional Gini index is more complete than its unidimensional configuration in order to compute the contribution of each group to the overall inequality. In Languedoc-Roussillon, it indicates that the disparities are particularly generated by wage differences between the regions and gender and confirms the opposite relation between the inequalities and poverty. Classification JEL : D63, D31, C10.
