Innovation et externalités spatiales: une approche par la fonction de production de connaissance

Revue d'économie régionale et urbaine, 2004, vol. avril, issue 2, 283-310
Abstract:
The knowledge production function, which has initially been suggested as a mean to measure of technological externalities, is extended here to the spatial dimension. After accounting for spatial autocorrelation, two interesting results are worth noting : 1) distance matters when it comes to measure the diffusion of knowledge ; 2) as suggested by Adam JAFFE (1989), technological externalities flow through R&D as well as patents. Classification JEL : C21, R12, O31.
