Abstract:
In recent years leisure mobility towards natural spaces bordering metropolitan areas is becoming increasingly important. Natural areas allow the development of the urban function of leisure which cities must offer in order to diversify their quality of life. They take part to the metropolization process that urban networks are experiencing. The integration of these territories into the metropolitan system will have impacts on the mobilities as well as on the organization of the urban space. The emergence of these « new urban natural territories » is restructuring the spatial organisation of suburban developments of metropolitan cities.
