Abstract:
Relying on fiscal competition and yardstick competition models, this article proposes to highlight horizontal interactions existence within French local governments, extending classical analysis of interactions to level of public expenditures. By using French social public expenditures and spatial econometrics schemes developed by ANSELIN, this article will clearly demonstrate existence of mimicking behaviour for French local governments related to their public expenditures policy.
