Abstract:
The recent evolution of the common agricultural policy (CAP) has adopted a new philosophy of intervention, by replacing the aid from first to the second pillar, which is devoted to the rural development policy. To fully exploit the new opportunities the farmer has to adopt strategic decisions ; of course, not all farmers pursuit the same strategies : the article analyses territorial differences in the adoption of rural development policies in Italy. Our hypothesis is that the more rural are examined areas the more consumed will be the measures of the second pillar of CAP.
