Abstract:
The project of circular automatic metro lines through the suburbs ringing central Paris (GPE) will raise the internal accessibility of the region substantially, linking radial lines. Today, job accessibility is 36 % lower in eastern suburbs than in western suburbs. The calculation of accessibility transformation shows that GPE will strongly reduce the gap in job accessibility between western and eastern suburbs. If the GPE is built in the west but not in the east (as it was thought until 2013), the accessibility gap will increase.
