Abstract:
Effects of globalisation on territorial strengths and weaknesses have often been assessed depending on the industrial activities, leading to promote public policies towards manufacturing sector, without slowing de-industrialisation. However, services may boost the industrial areas. This article takes the example of the Haute-Normandie region, particularly affected by the current crisis, and examines the specialization in services inside the regional areas of employment based on the recent typology of services (DATAR, 2010). If assets have appeared (weak specialization in the most volatile services, weight of the logistics...), three elements worry: a significant weight of collective services in a national context of geographical redistribution; a low weight of knowledge intensive based services; the specialization of the Vallée de la Bresle, the most industrialized area, in the support functions-related services, the most volatile.
