Abstract:
This article gives an overview of French labour courts? activity. It provides simple quantitative analyzes on these courts using data from the French Ministry of Justice. We first underline the difficulties these courts face (high caseload, long case duration, high appeal rates). We then describe the various reform projects to improve the performance of these courts (changes in procedural rules, settled solutions between the parties, nomination rules for the judges). The article ends with a comment on the challenges the empirical research on French Labour Courts is currently facing.
