Abstract: Each year in France, one person over five suffers from one home and leisure injury. Even though that everyone is susceptible of having this type of accident, there is a higher risk for people under 15 years old and over 65 years old. For this last group, bad health status is a worsening factor. This contribution discusses this idea. We show that there are two types of home and leisure injuries : the first ones are unpredictable and independents of the individual characteristics of the victim. We show also that home and leisure injuries seem to be linked to interpersonal and behavioral inequalities, because more isolated people, and those with financial troubles, have higher risk of being victim of one home and leisure injury. This contribution concludes that greater emphasis must be placed on the prevention to reduce the risk of home and leisure injuries at old ages.
