Quel policy mix pour la transition écologique ?

Esther Jeffers and Dominique Plihon

Revue française d'économie, 2023, vol. XXXVIII, issue 2, 163-187

Abstract: This article shows how fiscal, monetary, and prudential policies can be made green in order to address the massive financing needs and major risks associated with climate change. Based on the observation, which is indicated by the recent experience of the financial and health crises, that the separate and independent implementation of monetary and fiscal policies is detrimental to their effectiveness, the paper also shows the strategic role of a green policy mix ensuring the coordination of fiscal, monetary, and prudential policies when facing the challenges of climate change.
