Abstract:
Considering competition as a game and relying on a strong strategic intent, breakthrough strategies are among the new topics in strategic management. The breakthrough strategies research stream deals with the ability of a company to redefine the rules of the games in its industry. Illustrated by well-known examples of such strategies, the article proposes to take stock of this rapidly expanding research stream.
