Abstract:
This article aims to assess the explanatory and predictive power of ESG performance indicators. We present the results of an empirical study conducted on a sample of 2,848 North American listed companies. A hierarchical cluster analysis has been implemented, allowing us to identify four categories of companies of varying importance but clearly differentiated. This cluster analysis was followed by a predictive model based on binary logistic regression analysis. Our goal was to assess the probability of northern American companies belong to the class of ?virtuous companies? (best in class).
