Abstract:
In order to improve our understanding of the relationship and causality between HRM and innovation in small and medium sized enterprises, this paper examines the link among High-involvement practices and firm?s innovation. High-involvement practices are conceived here like a whole of complementary HRM practices and not in terms of isolated practices. In the case of 275 French SMEs, we have found simultaneous and longitudinal correlations between High-involvement practices and innovation; and that controlling past innovation doesn?t eliminate the correlation of HPWS with future innovation.
