L’entreprise démocratique. Organiser la démocratie ou organiser démocratiquement l’activité ?

Revue française de gestion, 2022, vol. N° 305, issue 4, 119-143

Abstract: Corporate democracy can be seen as a complex and uncertain process that shares sovereignty but runs the risk of degeneration. Our collaborative research highlights two new risks of degeneration, that of a radicalization of the democratic debate and that of a disintegration of the collective induced by a lack of sovereignty of individuals over their work and their professional career. We show that working on the activity and its organizational modalities, considering the issues of democracy, makes it possible to achieve a global balance while avoiding a direct and uncertain search for the right compromise between representation and participation.
