Quatre formes du partage. Une ethnographie sémiotique du partage

Revue française de gestion, 2023, vol. N° 312, issue 5, 15-34
Abstract:
This article offers a new perspective on the concept of sharing, following the controversy between the Belk (2010) and Arnould and Rose (2014, 2015) conceptions. Four forms of sharing are identified, based on an ethnographic study conducted in the field of a small town and a semiotic analysis. The analysis is conducted on the basis of a semiotic square through which the systemic tensions between the different forms of sharing are brought to light. The results reveal a contingent dynamic in the forms of sharing. The challenges of sharing and the concept of mutuality are discussed in the light of a broader conception of sharing.
