Abstract:
Small independent presses that have emerged in France in the past 20 years in the field of social critique are an illustration of the various ?resistance strategies? that characterise the fields of cultural goods, which are confronted with the growing pressures of economic rationality. While economically precarious, these presses exert an influence through their symbolic capital and develop a specific rhetoric staging their ?disinterstedness? and the subordination of economic values. The article will explore the theoretical underpinnings of such heterodox positions.
