Abstract:
In large companies, recruitment is a shared activity between Human Resources professionals and operational managers. Their respective roles and the shape of their interactions are formalized in management tools which embed major stakes in terms of selection: for Human Resources professionals, the aim is to frame applicants evaluation, arguing a necessary «professionalization of recruitment». We demonstrate that this «professionalization» is largely based on the production of norms and standards allowing HR people to extend their influence in the firm.
