Abstract:
This paper examines the sustainability of the agro-export model in which Argentina engaged. It suggests a major conflict between on the one hand, the success of the « soybeanization » of Argentinian agriculture measured in terms of records in production and profits, and, on the other hand, the social, economic, and environmental sustainability of this very intensive new model of production.
