Abstract:
This exploratory paper aims to connect the current critical debates on the theory of value in economics to their epistemological bases in order to identify the space in which they develop. It mainly relies on the methodology of Foucault?s ?genealogical? works, furthering and enriching this foundation. It discusses how current debates illustrate the weakening of the polarization between the labor and utility theories of value and open up a socioeconomic approach to valorization processes.
